Welcome to our Cafe we are glad you stopped by, take a seat here's a cinnamon roll and a hot cup of coffee. 

Years ago we found out the Justen had to eat gluten free, what a bummer for an Idaho/Colorado man that loved burgers, pizza, and bread.  Joy went to work with her Dad Lev to create Justen approved, gluten free baked goods. At first they were mostly sent out to our flock of chickens who reluctantly would peck at the bread rocks, until we eventually created eatable goods. Then with more work, even better and better baked goods were created. In 2020 Joy decided to leave her 20 year holistic nutrition practice due to the pandemic. We didn't let that take us down, we started offering our breads locally and at farmers markets, then we became wholesale distributors to local cafes. Justen and Joy have a deep rooted back ground in homesteading and a love for family and community. This lead us to expanding our offerings to the community and opening The Simple Cafe in 2021. 

The Simple Cafe is a Gluten Free Bakery and Kitchen nestled in the valley of abundance in the heart of Paonia Colorado. We serve nutritious foods from our valley and baked goods carefully crafted to make a rancher, a farmer or a city slicker smile. Come on in for a dose of sunshine from our friendly staff. Sit on the patio in the sun, or pull up a stool inside our cozy cafe. In the winter come on in for a hot cup of daily homemade soup and a cup of house roasted coffee with a delicious cinnamon roll, in the summer have a fresh Big Salad and a smoothie on our beautiful patio in the heart of Paonia. The Simple cafe was created out of love and devotion to our farmers, ranchers, family, and community. Come on by pull up a chair and soak in the mountain goodness at The Simple Cafe.
